Foiled again!

I was good and only had two pieces of the DELICIOUS pizza made for dinner, thin crust, lots of veggies, Canadian bacon, whole wheat crust, but..... I had left over dough and made bread with it.  I had a big HOT slice with butter on it.  Darn it.  Well, at least I was able to run today :)  It feels SO good to be able to run more than just a mile at a time :)  I really can't believe that I say that now.  For the first two years I was running, it was torture!  It is such a sweet experience now.  I don't think it has gotten easier, I just think I have begun to love torture ;)  Just kidding.

To Track or Not to Track?

I wasn't going to track this afternoon at all, but I figured, I'd better just do it!   I had an awards thing for my girls and had the pumpkin roll and half the ice cream there this afternoon.  The brownie Sunday came later, when the neighbors came over for dinner and brought it.  That was too much, and I should have skipped it.  Now to focus on perfection for the next three and a 1/2 days :)  I am planning on taking MAJOR notes in this weeks meetings to get through the stress of family gatherings.  I can do this, you can do this, we ALL can do this! :)

This meeting is for ME!!!

Hello Friends!
Are you getting snowed on?  We have been dusted down here .  I do like the snow, except when I have to go out in it .
Now, right to the brass tacks, this weeks meeting is OVER THE TOP fantastic!  It is all about dealing with relationships that are centered around food.  Now, for many of us, this is the case.  I am SO excited about this meeting.  We are really going to get into it and come away with some truly helpful strategies to get through this tricky holiday season.  Please, please, please come and see us.  We will be open EVERY day, regular times, except Thursday.
Here is a link to a million yummy fall desserts.  These look like HEAVEN!

Good day... Strange lunch!

Good day.  My friend made the most amazing pie for a party tonight, so I had to go over and taste it.  It was a Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie.  It was SO good, that I had it for lunch :)  TOO many points, but worth every bite.  It had 5,491 calories for the whole pie!  I entered the recipe in e-tool and it has 16 points for 1/8th of the pie.  These were not big pieces either ;)  I am making it for Thanksgiving for sure.
I had better get the boys in bed!  See y'all next week in the meetings :)

Progress

A member gave this to me at a meeting last week.  I really like it and think it is very worth the read.

"If you make more progress than you thought you would, don't compensate by slowing down. You're doing great, so raise your expectations even higher and keep going strong. If you fail to make as much progress as you had planned, don't get discouraged. Remind yourself of why you're making the effort, and re-commit to getting it done.

Consistent, purposeful effort will reliably bring the results you seek. On some days you'll move faster than on other days, yet every day you'll keep going forward.

Never forget that there is great power in small actions that are repeated again and again. Though the path may be long and winding and uneven, by continuing to put one foot in front of the other, you'll reach your destination.

Celebrate the small victories and learn from the small defeats. Then, keep on moving steadily toward the goal you've chosen.

Put the power of consistent effort to work. And each day, you'll bring new value to life."

Recovery ;)

Well, I ended up putting last nights indiscretions on yesterdays tracker.  I figured it was a good idea to eat well today and not try to repent for my snacks in the middle of the night.  I did list what I ate on my previous post.
Today would have been perfect, but my hubby came in the door with Krispy Kreme Donuts.  I had a 1/2 of a raised glazed and exceeded my daily points target by .5.  Not too bad for me on a Friday :)  I have got to keep myself shifted into holiday survival mode.  I have to be perfect every day, every meal that I can, so when I indulge at parties or other special occasions, it won't trow me from the train!
Tonight, for date night, we are babysitting the boys, while the girls are out and I am folding a literal mountain of laundry :)

I LOVE JACOB!!!!

OK, now I may be going against the grain here, but what does Edward have that Jacob does not? The obvious answer is Bella, but what the heck??? Jacob is 100% better looking than Edward and he's HOT, both literally and figuratively. Plus, he is NEVER GOING TO EAT Bella!
The movie was REALLY good. The acting was not perfect. The CG was 98% better than Twilight. I also think they did a really good job telling the story, with the changes they made to the book's story line.
I LOVED it!
Oh, at the movie, I ate about 3 inches down of a large popcorn, probably 1/2 a box of Charleston Chews, one sucker and a diet pepsi. I bought the Jacob conversation hearts, which were HORRIBLE, so I did not eat them. I did stick to the plan at Mi Rancherito ;D I'ma ROCK STAR today!

Food at New Moon counts on Friday, right??

Today is not too bad :)  We are off to dinner at my favorite, Mi Rancherito :)  I am just going to have the chicken salad, which is a bit of boiled chicken on ice burg lettuce.  Boring, but low in points.  I will count out my chips and use the salsa for my dressing on the sad salad ;)  Now, we are getting treats at Walmart for the movie that I will eat AFTER midnight, so they are going on tomorrows tracker.  I am not sure how that will go, but I'll be sure to let y'all know ;D ....oh, I'll tell you how the movie is too ;)   Wish me luck!

Have I mentioned that I LOVE Costco's Roasted Garlic bread???

I COMPLETELY lost it with the Roasted Garlic bread from Costco.  It was WARM and I ate and ate and ATE!  It would have been OK, well, more OK, if I had not doused it in butter.  My wpa is gone :(  I have got to learn to enjoy ONE or two pieces of things that I LOVE without stuffing myself with it.  DANG IT!  I also have got to get the fruit and veggies in.  I have been REALLY bad about it lately.  Hmmmmm...........
Tonight is the night!  New Moon :D  It should be lots of fun.  I can't wait!  I'd better take a nap ;D

Not too bad :)

Not to bad of a day.  It would have been perfect if my son had not left the box of Cheerios next to me while I was working.  I am weak.  Two more days until New Moon :)  I am off to bed.  I have been watching the Biggest Loser.  WOW, Rebecca looks GREAT!  HOLY COW!!!  Way to go sister.  We were watching her finish her 1/2 marathon.  My husband wanted to know what's up with running and crying.  He was there to see me finish my first 1/2 marathon and my marathon and witness me crying my eyes out.  I tried to explain it to him as I was crying watching Rebecca finish her 1/2 marathon on TV.  For me, running the 1/2 marathons and finishing my first marathon is hard to describe.  You have to over come SO many things to be able to run those distances.  It is overwhelming to accomplish something like that.  Anyway, I had better go to sleep :)

Can't Eat it if you DON'T HAVE IT!!

It is ever obvious to me that you can't eat any fruits and veggies if YOU DON'T HAVE ANY!!!  I need to go grocery shopping and I need to do it soon.  We devoured everything and it is not going to be remedied until I hit the store.  I just don't want to :p  I did finish Twilight tonight.  The book was FAR better than the movie :)  I may have a crush on Edward now, with half of the female population of the planet.  OK- Eclipse is next on my list.  I may wait until AFTER the movie on Thursday night to read it, though.  I have another book to read in between.  I really should be doing laundry and shopping for groceries :)  Dinner is getting a little odd ;D

I've been reading... non stop!

I have had my nose in a book for 3 days now.  My 3 year old said, "Not that again," as I started to read Twilight this morning.  I read New Moon, Thursday and Friday.  I realize that I am out of order, but I had to get New Moon in before the movie on Thursday.  Now my best buddy is forcing me to read Twilight before I can finish Eclipse.  I am officially obsessed.  I am the WORST with books.  I do NOTHING else until the book is finished.    I do understand now why Bella loves Edward and not Jacob.  I still think I would have gone for Jacob, though, love the one your with!  Plus, Jacob is WARM!!!  I am still befuddled about the whole romance between Edward and Bella.  It would be like me being in love with an AMAZING garlic bread or coconut cream pie.  I could smell the food, feel the food, but never EAT the food???  I don't think so!  If I were Edward, I would have to eat Bella.  Sad but true.  I should have Twilight done tomorrow.  I'll let you know how it goes :)

Fatal Error :\

Why did I hide the licorice IN my bed???? I was in a hurry and stashed the red vines under my covers along with the left over cinnamon bears! Well, I resisted for a while but then I caved. I moved them to a safer location for PLANNED consumption.

B-

Dinner is in the crock pot for tonight so I have a few minutes to post yesterdays eats.  I had to rush out the door, so breakfast was weird, yet again.  I stopped at the dollar store before work and bought the best thing I could find.  Jerky and 2 liters of water.  Any hoots, I had an alright day, but it should have been better.  My new favorite way to get my oil in is to take a teaspoon of olive oil and fry my whole wheat tortilla in it.  Man is that GOOD!  This morning, I put the teaspoon of olive oil in the frying pan, cooked my tortilla crisp and then scrambled my egg and egg white in the pan.  Once it was done, I put it into the tortilla and ate the best scrambled egg taco in the WHOLE WORLD!  I am out of salsa and need to get some asap.  I think I may be having this for breakfast for the next little while.  YUMMY!!!

A+ for the Good Health Guidlines!

Lunch was not really as conservative as I would have liked it to be, but breakfast and lunch were A-OK ;)  I wasn't going to eat anything after the pig out at lunch, but I figured, I may as well get my Good Health Guidelines in for good measure :)  The big kicker for me was the Cherry Salad my friend made.  YUMMY :)  I am going to play with the recipe and see if I can lighten it up for us all.  It should come out pretty low, with a bit of effort :)  For lunch we went to our friends house to welcome their son home from a two year service mission for our church in Costa Rica.  It was so good to see him and spend the afternoon with so many good friends :)  We should have chatted further from the buffet tableS, yes, plural, TABLES!!  That is my new strategy for this holiday season, get food and GET AWAY from the rest of it!

The NEWEST Holiday Traditions :)

Do you ever feel like the old, usual holiday traditions are not aiding you on your way to a new healthy lifestyle?  I mean some of these oldies are WONDERFUL and can not be spared, but they would still give us all the joy we look forward too all year, with some GREAT new additions!  This week in the meetings we are going to delve into a few new traditions that will actually lend to your quest toward a healthier you, not to mention a healthier family.
Now, don't forget your homework from last weeks meetings.  #1  WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HAVE HAPPEN January 2 ????  Set your realistic goals :)  #2  TRACK!!!!  I mean it!  If you want to lose weight, you are going to have to really be hyper-vigilant.  If you have a night out and slip and slide around the buffet table, STILL TRACK IT WHEN YOU GET HOME, even if it is just a sketch of the fiasco.   You can't learn from the experience if you don't own up to it ;)  #3 THIS IS NOT THE TIME OF YEAR TO MISS YOUR MEETINGS!  The next 8 weeks are going to make all of the difference.  Besides, I LOVE to see you :)
Below are two delicious recipes, one for those of you pumpkin pie lovers and another for a yummy breakfast :)

Gingersnap Pumpkin Pie
Follow the directions on the Libby pumpkin can… except-  use egg whites, skim evaporated milk and substitute ½ of the sugar for Splenda.  Then- take 1 C gingersnap cookie crumbs, pour into a sprayed (with Pam) pie tin.  Press around to form a crust.  Pour in pie filling and bake to pkg directions.  3 POINTS for 1/8th.

Egg and Bacon Breakfast Burritos

POINTS® Value: 7
Servings:  2

Ingredients

2 serving(s) butter-flavor cooking spray
3 large egg white(s)
2 large egg(s)
2 slice(s) Canadian-style bacon, finely chopped
1/4 tsp dried oregano

1/8 tsp table salt

1/8 tsp black pepper

3 Tbsp salsa, drained of excess liquid before measuring

2 large burrito-size wheat flour tortilla(s)

4 Tbsp reduced-fat sour cream
1/8 medium avocado, ripe, cut into 2 wedges

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF. Coat a small baking sheet with cooking spray. Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-low heat.

  • In a large bowl, beat egg whites and eggs. Add bacon, oregano, salt, pepper and salsa; stir well.

  • Pour egg mixture into prepared skillet; increase heat to medium. Let eggs partially set and then scramble using a spatula. When eggs are set but still slightly glossy, remove from heat.

  • Spoon half of egg mixture into center of each tortilla. Roll tortilla to conceal filling, making sure to fold in ends. Place burritos, seam-side down, on prepared baking sheet. Bake until burritos are very hot, about 5 minutes. Remove from oven and serve each burrito with 1 tablespoon sour cream and 1 slice avocado.

Notes

  • For a breakfast on the go, fill a toasted whole-wheat pita half with the scrambled egg mixture, sour cream and avocado.

To Be or Not to Be

Well, I have a very good, dear friend who is probably the most driven, dedicated, OVER THE TOP hardest worker I have ever known.  I am sure that many of you have a friend or two like this as well.  I am always in awe of her ability to set a goal and WORK LIKE CRAZY to accomplish it, and these are no small goals she sets for herself.  I wonder why I do not have the same drive?  I have always wondered this about myself.  I was probably off talking to some friends when this talent was handed out in heaven.  I suppose I should not lament the things I do not have.  I am not feeling sorry for myself or thinking I am less.  I am just thinking that I should maybe dedicate what small amount of focus I have on learning to develop a bit MORE focus.  Hmmmmm...... lots to ponder as I fall asleep tonight :)
Oh, and YES, I did notice what a pitiful and strange, lunch AND breakfast I had today.  Breakfast was SO weird because I was late for work and just grabbed 4 apples and a water.  I ate one on the way to work, one at work and two on the way home.  I am guessing that lunch was also 'weird' because of the odd nature of breakfast.  Dinner was too pointy for my day, but I needed to eat.  Oh, I did just have a banana for a night cap.  I am off to the deep slumber of the tired and weary.  Did I mention it was Road Show night???  We were the "Celestial" family

What Happended to the Last Three days???

You probably aren't wondering what happened over the past three days, but just in case you are, I don't know either.  It is a blob of eating well, mixed with 2 parties.  Thursday night, I went with my friend to her Relief Society party.  I wasn't over the top bad, but I did go over my points.  Yesterday, I ate next to nothing all day, because I was SO busy.  I went to a WONDERFUL party at my friends home and was OK with the appetizers and dinner, BUT, my friend brought out the MOST AMAZING Tres Leches cake I have ever beheld.  I had TWO large pieces, one right after dinner and another after games.  I was UNBELIEVABLY delicious!  I have no idea how many points, but am VERY sure that it was 1,000,000 points and worth every bit.  There was a chocolate fountain there too and I had 2 marshmallows, one cube of angle food cake and about 8-10 cinnamon bears (big shock).  I have earned 38 activity points this week, but that wont help me here.  I don't have any parties until Thanksgiving, so the plan is perfection until 2pm Thanksgiving day :)  I always try to be perfect, but it never works out that way :(  Will I ever learn ;D  Probably not....

Confessions

I woke up feeling lousy, so I laid around drinking tea with honey and babies myself :)  There are a few things missing from my tracker today.
2 fun size almond joy
4 tootsie rolls
1 cup of linguini
popcorn with caramelized honey- if you like honey, you will like this!
I think that is all.  I could figure the points, but I am tired and don't want to :p  Now, this 3 year old behavior is not helpful for weight loss, but it does help me to be more accountable.
Is there a cold that only hits you in the morning, but you are fine the rest of the day???  I have that one.  Maybe I am allergic to my bed???

Update...

So, I stuck to my plan last evening pretty well, almost. I ate a few more roasted yams than I had planned and I ate 2 whoppers and a about a 1/3 of a fun size Heath bar. I need to go back into e-tools and figure the damage ;)
